The school was started in 2001 with the blessings of our Chairman's mother SHRIMATHI KALIGI RANGANATHAN AMMAL.

The name Montford was christened on memory of two great Yeomen- Simon De Montford, an English statesman an Solider, known for his Strict Discipline and good cnduct in the English Army, and saint Louis Marie De Montford, a world renowned Educationist who was the first in the world to introduce an all round education for the total development of the young.

It is a non-aided co-educational institution enjoying the recognition of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu. The school follows the curriculum & syllabus of Tamil Nadu Matriculation Board.
