The laws of life and light are seen in the physics laboratory. It is here that the dark areas of ignorance are expelled, metaphorically speaking! And the light of knowledge abounds…. Students are well chalked out time frames for adequate laboratory sessions and the staff pays individual attention and guide them.
The mystery of Chemistry need not be a mystery any more, for, our school provides the infrastructural Chemistry Lab to decode the mystery. We provide a safe and well-protected gas-plant to conduct the entire Chemistry practical. The children are trying out their best to ponder more over their experiments. The nucleus of a school is to cater to the needs of chemistry quest and our school never misses to give the best. Fire-proof system is an added strength to avoid any untoward accidents.
Students will handle the instruments with care in the bio-tech lab. The Bio-technology industry could possibly become a chief goal for the young as this industry currently employs 1,00,000 professionals and is expected to double in the native future. This is the stuff of which dreams are made of! Nutritious food is essential for the physical and mental growth of the child. Hence here in the Biology laboratory students are engaged in food analysis. Experiments with chemicals and reactions are also carefully observed. Looking through Microscope tells them about the intricacies of life. They marvel at minute detail and pattern that they cannot otherwise see with the naked eye.
The laboratories are well equipped for experimentation and discovery. Students are encouraged to have minds of their own and are exposed to newer experiences in learning. They can even look ahead of the times and are moulded to reach great heights.
There are many computers in the computer lab and Kaligi has invested much time and energy in selecting the teaching faculty who are not only well qualified but experiences in delivering the best multimedia education to the student community. The latest software and hardware are made accessible to them to keep them abreast with the times. Computer awareness and literary in pupils from Std U.K.G is a special feature. Air conditioned halls with adequate number of computers have been set up. A lab of 50 Pentium IV computes for XI & XII Stds, 50 Pentium IV computers for the children form Stds VI to X and a separate “ Kothai Computer Kingdom” for the primary section comprises 50 Pentium IV computers with Broadband Internet Connection.
The rapid change in the field of Computer Science Engg.& Information Technology necessitate a proper fore grounding at the school level. Computer Staff are constantly updating themselves to take these students along this ever challenging path. Individual monitoring is done in this field to explore new horizons.
The school library, reverentially named after our respected Educationist and well-wisher,Sri.C.Ethiraj, President,Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty’s Charities, houses about 21,000 books for reading and reference by pupils and staff.

The library is strengthened every year with more and more useful books. The library is now housed in a new spacious hall, well-furnished with reading hall. Card catalogue system is in vogue and the process of computerization is on. Bar coding system is introduced to make it a digital library.
The library is opened form 8 am to 5 pm. Library assistants help the students to locate relevant reading material for study. Journals, Newspapers and Magazines as well as Multi-Media CD are available for them. Every year the library is updated. Books on General Knowledge and all reference books are also available. The student embarks on his/her own journey into the galaxy of books displayed on well-stacked racks. It is a storehouse of knowledge and students are allowed free accessibility to books available. The rules and regulations are formulated in the best interest to the cause of education.
Mathematics-teaching is again turned a game to teach difficult concept through play-way method. Various modernized equipments like Place value kit, Spikes,Beads and Base cards are to replace tedious learning with a curiosity towards Mathematics Concepts.
Our school is equipped with a modernized spectrum English Laboratory to enhance all the four skills of communication English, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing (LSRW). Our sole target is to make our students, achieve mastery over English language. Grammar teaching is made activity-based,taught effectively through play-way methods.
For the convenience of students from long distance to reach school safely, transportation facilities are expanded every year. Separate travel (Van) for kids is made as they would leave the premises at mid-hour. They would be accompanied by a teacher & a maid to drop them down at their respective stops. Primary& Higher Sec. Student have their buses separately according to their morning sessions. The student board Buses/Vans from a wider area of the city namely Agaram, Kolathur,Redhills, Madhavaram,Vyasarpadi,Perambur station,Ayanavaram and Villivakkam.
Kaligi can boast of its ample transport facility consisting of comfortable school vans and buses to take students from their respective bus stops to the school premises and back, in a safe and organized manner.
Canteen provides healthy,hygienic and a mouth watering tasty food and beverages for the students as well as the staff at moderate rate.
